This unit focuses on course materials and when/why/how to make use of authentic materials, created materials, and course books. At lower levels, created materials and course books may be more useful, as students will not be ready to use authentic materials and course books are more likely to be calibrated for a certain level and already tested as learning materials. For higher levels, it's still important to make sure that authentic materials are appropriate, but if they are, they are more likely to pique the interest of the students and teach them useful content.
