Lesson planning is the vital and core business of teaching generally speaking. It makes the teaching an enjoyable activity because a lesson plan will help both the teacher and students since the teacher will go to class knowing exactly what it is that the students must achieve by the end of the lesson and also how to go about teaching the lesson in order to help the students. The teacher also gets a source of reference as the lesson continues. Even in times of need other substitute teachers can refer to the lesson plans and know what was covered and what was not,thus official record of what has been done can be provided. Lesson planning has basic principles to be considered when planning as well as important aspects that need to be included in each lesson plan. What was very interesting and relatively new to me was the element of planning a sequence of flexible lessons and the process of self evaluation.
