The third unit provided an overview of various types of methodologies that are implemented in teaching ESL; it also focused on three main phases of teaching. I learned that the engage phase should be used to ensure student participation, whereas the study phase should focus on teaching students new concepts through various exercises and activities. The activate phase is reserved for encouraging students to get creative with the language.
