This unit presents the different types of evaluating and testing. There are tests that take place in language schools such as placement test, practice test, diagnostic test, and progress test. Those tests are designed by the teacher to determine the level of the students and their progress. Those tests also aim at helping the teacher to select his future materials and lessons. This unit also brings into play extarnal examinations such as TOFEL, TOEK, IELTS that are required by universities and for immigration reasons.
