This unit taught how to teach receptive skills and emphasized how important reading and listening are when learning a new language. I learned the problems that could arise when teaching this new skill (i.e. the students must be interested in what they're reading or listening to). I also learned the different reasons someone may be reading or listening (i.e. for a purpose or for entertainment). Finally, I learned a patchwork and straight arrow ESA plan for teaching this new skill.
