This unit focuses on the productive skills speaking and writing, sort of the output of the receptive skills reading and listening. It stressed the need for both accuracy and fluency in output, and described how to work both of these skills in appropriate ways, and it described some of the potential pitfalls to teaching written English. I sometimes have wondered what would be effective ways to exercise fluency in addition to teaching accurate language; now this unit has given me some ideas as to what kind of lesson structure would be good for this goal.
