In this unit, we talked about the past tenses -- past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. They show actions or state in the past. Past perfect and past perfect continuous are important and a little harder than the other two. One key point here is that they show an action happened before a defined past action/time, and if the action is accomplished -- past perfect, if it's still in progress -- past perfect continuous.
