This lesson makes me think back to the teachers that I had in grade school and who I think was the most effective when it came to making the class interesting and successful. One of my favorite classes and teachers was an English class where we all sat in comfy chairs, like you’d find in a home, that was situated in a circle. Because the class mainly read books and home and would use class time to discuss what we had read, the orientation of the chairs made it easy to have full discussions where everyone felt welcome. The teacher made it feel like we were all equals, encouraging everyone to have input in order for the class to learn effectively.
