As a native American speaker I never realized how important pronunciation and phonology were. In unit 13: they discussed the importance of these terms and how to incorporate teaching pronunciation and phonology into lessons. I had a hard time understanding the concept of the phonemic alphabet, but was able to pick it up. In the end, I feel much more confident in terms of understanding how to explain pronunciation, and also having my future students effectively learning it.
