This unit outlined how to teach special groups, specifically young learners and those learning English for business. I learned that teaching children can often be the most rewarding because of their eagerness to learn new concepts and their ability to pick up new language easily. However, I also learned that teaching children poses its own unique challenges and you have to combat these challenges by keeping lessons shorts and varied, having a lot of energy, using a lot of repetition and not using the native language to communicate. I also learned how to teach students learning English for business purposes and that I don't have to be a business expert in order to provide the instruction they're looking for. To succeed teaching these students I should go through a needs analysis with the students before preparing the course and review the material often to ensure they're getting the information they want to get out of the course.
