In this unit I have learned about teaching vocabulary, how to select the vocabulary items that I want to teach and also what students need to know about vocabulary items for example the meaning, use, word grammar etc. I have also learned about introducing grammatical structures and what techniques to use for presenting and practising language structures. I also learned that language functions include areas such as inviting, refusing, agreeing and disagreeing, suggesting etc.and I also studied about new ways to teach different language functions with a typical ESA function lesson. In this unit I also reviewed the different kinds of ESA lessons that can be used like the 'straight arrow' lesson, 'boomerang' lessons and also 'patchwork' lessons.
