Volunteering with us as an EFL teacher will be one of the most fulfilling things you do in your life. Whether you’re looking to make a life change after years spent in the rat race, or want to gain some life experience after university, whether you’re a nomad of the world looking for your next settlement or just someone who wants to make an honest difference in people’s lives, then come and join the SVS School for English family.

We know it’s a bold claim to make, but we’ve had the privilege of hosting dozens of volunteers from across the world in the decade since we started; every one of them has found a measure of happiness, teaching English to hundreds of students who truly value the experience and knowledge their teachers bring.

As a volunteer teacher with SVS School for English, you’ll have the chance to live and travel in the beautiful tropical island that is Sri Lanka. We’re not going to give you the guide book spiel – after all, you can Google it for yourself and see just how wonderful a place Sri Lanka is. What we will tell you is that it’s hard to leave once you get here.

Our volunteers receive food and accommodation free of charge, travel to and from the school as well as a small monthly stipend. Teachers live in a large, modern house in the suburbs of Colombo, close to the scenic parliament area, and a stone’s throw from a gorgeous wetland park. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided, as well as other amenities including a laundry service. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to experience the tranquility of Sri Lanka’s up-country region when visiting Maskeliya, where the school’s parent project, the Samanala Valley Foundation is located.

Classes run Monday to Friday, beginning at 8.30 AM. Volunteer teachers work 30 hours a week, teaching three 2-hour classes daily, and are provided with lesson plans and course materials. All teachers really need to bring to the classroom is enthusiasm and the zest and passion to be the best for their students.

REQUIREMENTS:
We’re looking for committed, open- minded individuals with a passion for helping students develop their written and spoken English language skills, along with the enthusiasm to take in all that Sri Lanka and SVS School for English has to offer. To volunteer with SVS School for English, the following requirements must be fulfilled:

You must be a native speaker of English and/or have an excellent standard of English.
Graduated from university and/or be TEFL certified and/or have at least 3 or more years of work experience in any industry.
Be able to commit to at least 6 months of volunteering at SVS School for English.
Volunteer teachers will need a visa to enter Sri Lanka, and the school assists in making the necessary arrangements to procure a visa.

It’s simple, really. We’re just a small, family-run school (that’s also a charity), who are trying to do our best for our students. We’re here to ensure that anyone living in Sri Lanka who wants to learn English has a fair and equal opportunity to do so. REQUIREMENTS:
A host teacher needs to:
- have ESL or English teaching credentials, such as TEFL /TESOL certification (or equivalent experience)
- be able to give 15-25 lessons (50 minutes each) one-to-one instruction per week
- accommodate students, so having a pleasant guest room available is necessary - providing full board accommodation is required

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS:
Host teachers earn from $650 to $1020 per week, depending on the kind of course selected (General, Business English etc.). Host teachers work for us on a self-employed, part-time basis.

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic TEFL Teachers on short term contracts to join our outstanding team. The role of the teacher at Kings Summer is to provide a positive EFL instruction to our international students. Some of our schools operate a zigzag system where half the students have lesson in the morning and the other half in the afternoon over 5 days. In this scenario teachers are required to teach 30 hours per week and also work on a full day excursion or an airport transfer. In centres with morning only teaching, teachers teach 15 hours and do activity sessions and a full day excursion or airport transfer. All staff are expected to do some meal and bedtime duties and work a 6 day week.

Kings Summer is committed to the safeguarding of our students. All summer staff will be expected to adhere to our Child safeguarding policy. References (2 recent professional references) will be followed up and gaps in CVs must be explained satisfactorily. Professional Linguistic Upper Studies (PLUS) operates English as a Foreign Language (EFL) programs across the world and has opportunities for TEFL certified teachers during the summer. PLUS U.S. Corporation, headquartered in New York, runs summer English language study and travel programs for international high school students in the New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and San Francisco regions. The programs allow students the opportunity to take English classes and explore the surrounding regions while staying at U.S. colleges and universities.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
EFL Instructors deliver English as a Foreign Language lessons to international high school students based on the curriculum provided. Lessons focus on listening and speaking skills. EFL Instructors report directly to the Academic Supervisor.

SCHEDULE:
The employment period is during summer 2018; dates may be flexible based on instructor flexibility. Most students are with the PLUS program for two-week sessions; PLUS runs back-to-back sessions over the course of the summer.

Students receive 30 hours of English instruction during their two-week session, approximately 15 hours per week. Each session has 10 lessons, each of which is 3 hours. Classes are held Mondays-Saturdays and on average about 4 days each week. Lessons are offered both in morning classes (9am to 12pm), and afternoon classes (1pm to 4pm.) Classes are usually either morning only, or morning AND afternoon. Class sizes are generally 15 students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver well-prepared EFL lessons to diverse classrooms of international high school students in a professional and engaging manner.
Review the curriculum provided by PLUS to adequately prepare for each lesson; instructors should be prepared to supplement the curriculum with their own materials, as appropriate.
Assess whether students have been placed in the correct level of instruction.
Orally assess students’ proficiency levels, as directed by the Academic Supervisor.
Practice appropriate classroom management techniques to ensure a safe, comfortable, and engaging learning environment for all students.
Collaborate with the Academic Supervisor and PLUS Head Office regarding instructional methods and the PLUS curriculum.
Attend training session and any additional meetings organized by the Academic Supervisor.
Maintain frequent and professional communication with the Academic Supervisor.
Perform other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED SKILLS:
Authorization to work in the U.S. required
Must be 18 years or older
Bachelor’s degree required (at the time of start date); TESOL/TEFL certificate and/or Master’s degree preferred
Prior EFL/ESL teaching experience strongly preferred

WHAT?
Language Instructor jobs in France. Children aged 3 to 12. No teaching experience is required as training provided, but TEFL qualifications are welcomed.

HOW MANY HOURS?
Part-time jobs from 5 to 25 hours per week. Flexible jobs to fit in around studies or other commitments, with a choice of hours to suit availability.

SALARY:
The Babylangues salary is an attractive wage in comparison to the minimum wage in France.

BENEFITS:

Free mobile phone: Once you become part of the Babylangues community, we can provide you with a mobile phone and contract for the duration of your stay, including two hours of calls a month, with unlimited texts within France, and Internet access.
Free Velib’ Pass: To help you get around the city, all Instructors are eligible to a free Velib’ pass, the Paris bike service. This subscription can be made at any point during your contract and lasts for a year, at which point you can simply renew your pass. The equivalent pass is also offered in our other cities in France.
Babylangues also offers you French lessons, organised exclusively for Babylangues Instructors.

YOUR CONTRACT
Your contract is a CDI (contrat à durée indéterminée), which means there is no fixed end date. It is the safest type of contract in France. In accordance with French law, 10% of your pay will be put aside for you as “congés payés” (paid holiday). This will be paid to you during the school holidays to compensate for the absence of scheduled sessions in these periods. Being employed by a French company gives you the right to French Social Security and health insurance.

Teach young children (5-14yrs. old) English in Taiwan. Kitchkas' Reading House is looking for an energetic TEFL qualified teacher who is available to start as soon as possible. While you are here, learn Chinese, travel or just enjoy the culture. Our American owned school is located in Tainan. We are licensed and registered with the city government. Our student enrollment continues to grow every day due to the quality of our teaching program. Students from the surrounding schools come to our school after their public schools to learn English.

Salary: $630NT/hour (approx. $20US)
