Multiple IntelligencesIn 1983, Howard Gardner developed a theory on learning called “Multiple Intelligences.” He claimed that people actually have eight different types of intelligences that are equally important: • Linguistic intelligence ("word smart") • Logical-mathematical intelligence ("number/reasoning smart") • Spatial intelligence ("picture smart") • Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence ("body smart") • Musical intelligence ("music smart") • Interpersonal intelligence ("people smart") • Intrapersonal intelligence ("self smart") • Naturalist intelligence ("nature smart") According to Gardner, some people are stronger in certain areas than others.
