Specialized Courses
The practice of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) often branches into speacialized areas focusing on teaching specific groups of learners. Worldwide demand for EFL teachers qualified in these fields is increasing and ITT is at the forefront in preparing teachers with the necessary skills to teach English to Young Learners (TEYL) and to Teach Business English (TBE).
We have been running our Specialized online TEFL courses for a number of years now and indeed we are a pioneering organization offering these high quality online courses.

Both our Speacialized courses are designed to give you the skills and ability to manage and develop the learning procees of your students. Each course consists of modular units and each course necessitates 50 hours of study.
Certificate in Teaching Business English course: CTBE
CTBE: Target group
- This course is designed for TEFL and equivalent certified teachers.
- We assume participants intend to specialize in teaching Business English now or in the future.
- Experience or training in business education is not required to complete this course.
CTBE: Structure
- A five module 50-hour course which covers as many practical and theoretical facets as possible within the available time.
- Module 1 evaluates the roles of the teacher/facilitator and the learner/client. It investigates the kinds of skills your learner/clients will need and want from you.
- Module 2 considers the initial meeting with your clients, the practice of level testing, needs analysis, and personalized and appropriate syllabus construction. It also covers ideas and methods for assessing clients before, during and after their program and ends with a clear and measured assessment of and structure for your client.
- Module 3 covers materials available for teaching Business English. It includes how to source business English materials and how to create them yourself. It ends with suggestions for how to systematize these materials into effective lesson plans that you will actually be able to use.
- Module 4 covers teaching themes you can use to base your syllabus and teaching ideas on. This includes frame-working, computer-assisted language learning, games and case studies.
- Module 5 covers the teaching environment of Business English. It strives to give practical help and advice on seeking and applying for business English teaching positions. It also gives general advice on the many professional associations you can join that will aid you in your career.
CTEYL: Objectives
Upon completing your CTEYL online certification course, you will be able to:

CTEYL: Structure

- Module 1 evaluates learning and teaching theory. It covers child development and general learning theories and language acquisition theories of L1(native language) and L2 (second language). It also develops ideas for approaching the teaching of young learners and considers how to create the best learning environment for them at different developmental stages. Finally, it looks at all the various skills students must learn.
- Module 2 looks at the construction of an effective course, from initial placement testing to student needs analysis, proceeding to design of an effective syllabus. How, when and why to test the program effectiveness is also covered.
- Module 3 considers the different teaching materials available for young learners, their effectiveness and use, and how to source them and create your own. The practical use in regard to order and behavior is also discussed.
- Module 4 considers and identifies various learning strategies. Clear examples of how you can utilize particular lesson plans are presented.
- Module 5 covers professional and personal development in several key areas, including how to maintain forward momentum in your teaching career, creating an effective CV/resume and job application strategies. We also discuss beneficial associations and organizations to join to aid in career development.
